VIP Nation is a service that provides premium concert ticket packages online. It's a part of the Live Nation Entertainment Company. Ultimate VIP and VIP packages were available for One Direction tour dates in North America.
Background
If a VIP packages is purchased, then five days prior to the show date you will receive an email with package details including time and place to meet your VIP host on the night of the show. Packages are non-transferable; no name changes are permitted under any circumstances. VIP package items, including ticket, are distributed the night of the show by the VIP Nation host.
Up All Night Tour
VIP packages for the North American leg of the Up All Night Tour were announced on March 21, 2012. They were available for 21 dates; Chicago and Orlando did not have a VIP option.

Packages went on sale March 23, 2012 through VIP Nation's official website. During the first sale on the East coast, VIP Nation's website was unable to handle the traffic they received. The website was down for most of the day, causing many fans to miss their opportunity at a VIP package.
Take Me Home Tour
VIP packages for the North American leg of the One Direction 2013 World Tour were announced on April 13, 2012 through VIP Nation's Twitter. Packages went on sale April 14, 2012 through Ticketmaster.
